Consumer Reports has issued its first hospital safety ratings, using different measures than the Leapfrog Group and sometimes reaching different conclusions. CR rated 1,159 hospitals in 44 states on complications, infections, 30-day readmission and post-discharge mortality, scanning overuse, and medication and discharge communications.
